Please read these terms before requesting or accepting service. They explain what a snake-response visit can—and cannot—establish.
Important safety limitation
A completed visit does not certify that a property is snake-free.
Snakes are wild, mobile animals that can hide in inaccessible areas, leave before arrival, remain concealed, or enter again after a responder departs. A search result describes only what could reasonably be observed during that visit.
1. Scope of a response
A standard response is limited to an assessment and reasonable visual search of the immediate last-seen area and other nearby areas that are safely and lawfully accessible. It is not a structural inspection, destructive search, continuous monitoring service, medical service, security service, or certification that any building, yard, vehicle, worksite, or public area is free of snakes.
2. No guarantee of location, capture, or future safety
SoCal Snake Help does not promise that a snake will be found, identified, captured, removed, or prevented from returning. Failure to locate a snake does not establish that no snake is present. Capture does not establish that no additional snake is present. No statement made during or after a visit should be understood as permission to approach a snake or as a guarantee that an area is safe.
3. Customer responsibility after the response
The property owner, occupant, site representative, or person requesting service retains possession and control of the premises at all times. When the responder concludes the visit or leaves, the customer is solely responsible for deciding whether and when an area may be used again; keeping people and animals away from suspected hiding areas; supervising children and pets; warning residents, guests, tenants, employees, contractors, and visitors; monitoring the last-seen area; following all safety instructions; and contacting SoCal Snake Help or emergency services if the snake reappears or a new hazard arises.
The customer must not represent to anyone that SoCal Snake Help certified the property or area as snake-free.
4. Assumption of inherent risk
By requesting or accepting service after receiving notice of these terms, the customer acknowledges that snake encounters involve inherent and unpredictable risks, including concealment, movement, re-entry, misidentification, defensive behavior, bites, envenomation, allergic reaction, other bodily injury, death, and property damage. These risks can remain even when reasonable care is used and even after a search or removal is completed.
5. Release and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by California law, the customer assumes the risks described above and releases SoCal Snake Help and its owner, employees, agents, and contractors from claims, losses, injuries, death, or property damage arising from a snake’s presence, concealment, movement, escape, or later entry; an inability to locate, identify, capture, or remove a snake; conditions not reasonably observable during the visit; or the acts or omissions of the customer or third parties after the visit—including claims alleging ordinary negligence.
This provision does not release liability that cannot lawfully be waived, including liability for gross negligence, reckless or willful misconduct, fraud, or unlawful conduct.
6. Customer instructions and third parties
The customer is responsible for giving accurate location and sighting information, providing lawful and safe access, disclosing known hazards, keeping bystanders and animals clear, and following the responder’s instructions. The customer is also responsible for communicating continuing snake risk and post-visit precautions to anyone who may enter or use the premises. A person who did not agree to these terms may have rights that the customer cannot waive on that person’s behalf.
7. Complimentary return policy
If a snake cannot be located during a paid private-property response and a snake associated with the same incident reappears at the same property within 24 hours, one return visit is complimentary. This courtesy is subject to availability, reasonable travel conditions, lawful and safe access, and the snake’s current location. It does not create continuous monitoring, a guarantee of response time or capture, or responsibility for the premises between visits.
8. Bites and medical emergencies
SoCal Snake Help is not an emergency medical provider. If a bite may have occurred—especially a possible rattlesnake bite—call 911 immediately. Do not wait for SoCal Snake Help, attempt to capture the snake, or delay treatment to obtain a photograph. California Poison Control is available at 1-800-222-1222, but 911 should be used for a suspected venomous bite or serious symptoms.
9. Service requests and acceptance
These terms apply when they are provided or made conspicuously available before service is requested or accepted. By then requesting dispatch, authorizing entry, or accepting performance, the customer acknowledges these service limitations and agrees to these terms. Any separate written service authorization signed or affirmatively accepted by the customer also applies. If terms conflict, the more specific written service authorization controls.
10. Governing law and severability
California law governs these terms. If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. Nothing here waives a right or responsibility that California law does not permit the parties to waive.
11. Calls, texts, photos, and privacy
When contacting SoCal Snake Help, a customer may choose to share a name, phone number, location, photos, and sighting details. This information is used to understand and respond to the request. Do not send unrelated sensitive information. Image-based identification has limits; never move closer to improve a photograph. The site does not require advertising trackers, though essential infrastructure may process standard request information for security, delivery, and reliability.
12. Updates
Services and terms may be updated as the business evolves. The version conspicuously provided when service is requested or accepted applies to that request. Material changes do not retroactively alter an already accepted written service authorization unless both sides agree.
